Milverton is a quintessential Somerset village with a thriving community that we feel lucky to be a part of.
Mark and I have been running the globe in Milverton for 9 years and are very proud of the quality of food and the welcome that we give to all. We are a family run free house with a difference, on the outside a grade II listed building, but with a contemporary and comfortable interior. We produce quality, home cooked, local food with a friendly and informal service.
The menu ranges from traditional local ham and eggs with chips or homemade burgers, to the main menu with slow roasted local Gloucester old spot belly pork to a wide selection of fish specials from Exmouth and Brixham, which could include river fowey mussels or plaice with lemon butter and samphire. Everything is homemade including the bread and all the desserts (with a little help from Mark’s mum). The cheese board includes five local cheeses from across the West Country.
Local ales are also one of Mark’s passions, Exmoor and otter can be found along side ales from brewers such as Quantock, Yeovil or Butcombe, amongst others. Local cider is available in the form of Sheppys and Thatchers and English wine is also represented. We also have a great range of soft drinks including a local tea and coffee From DJ miles based in Minehead
The Globe is the perfect venue for all occasions, offering a warm and friendly atmosphere and fantastic food. It also offers 2 en-suite letting rooms and a tranquil sun terrace for those summer months.
We hope to welcome you soon
