What is Pilates?
Pilates is a unique system of stretching and strengthening exercises first developed almost 100 years ago by Joseph Pilates. Pilates strengthens and tones muscles, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance, creates a more streamlined shape, and enhances the unity of body and mind. Moreover, Pilates is fun! Pilates is not about gruelling, repetitive exercises performed in a gym. Pilates exercises are targeted and efficient, training mind and body to work together towards the overall goal of physical fitness.
Benefits of Pilates include:
· Coordinated strengthening of abdominals, pelvic girdle, shoulder girdle, and spine
· Increased flexibility and agility
· Increased stamina and energy
· Improved coordination, balance, and dexterity
· Muscles that are streamlined and strong, not bulky
· Heightened body awareness and efficiency
· A feeling of general health and well being
Who should participate?
Anyone! Pilates is suitable for any age and any physical condition. Elite athletes, those rehabilitating from illness or managing chronic conditions, fitness enthusiasts, complete beginners, couch potatoes – Pilates will meet the individual on his or her level and work its amazing effects.

Pilates improves balance and coordination.
"In ten sessions you will feel the difference, in twenty you will see the difference, and in thirty you will have a whole new body."
"Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live in."
