Wednesday Pilates Classes: General Ability/Intermediate
9.00 and 10.00 in the Victoria Rooms, Milverton
These Pilates classes emphasise balance, coordination, spinal mobility, core strength, and the lengthening of tight muscles. Work is done from standing and on the mat. You will need your own mat. Other props are provided.
Tuesday Pilates Class: Standing and Chair
9.30-10.30 in the Victoria Rooms
These classes emphasise the same Pilates principles, working from standing and seated in chairs. These classes are especially appropriate for anyone not wanting to get up/ down from the floor. There is a particular emphasis on balance.
9.00-10.00 General Ability/ Intermediate
Private lessons are available on Fridays from 10.00-11.00 by arrangement

What is Pilates?
Pilates is a unique system of stretching and strengthening exercises first developed almost 100 years ago by Joseph Pilates. Pilates strengthens and tones muscles, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance, creates a more streamlined shape, and enhances the unity of body and mind. Moreover, Pilates is fun! Pilates is not about gruelling, repetitive exercises performed in a gym. Pilates exercises are targeted and efficient, training mind and body to work together towards the overall goal of physical fitness.
