On Saturday, 30th March, Somerset Opera performed “The Mikado” to a packed audience in the Victoria Rooms. As always, this was a great evening and raised a good sum of money towards our funds. Thanks to everyone who supported us, those who helped on the evening and the members of Somerset Opera for a most enjoyable performance.
The Milverton Street Fair on Monday, 6th May will soon be here. As usual, “The Old Vic” the Victoria Rooms’ own bar, will be on the forecourt selling local beer and cider as well as wine and soft drinks. The only other thing needed is some lovely weather to make the day complete. Come along and enjoy a drink while relaxing and enjoying the variety of music being played outside the Rooms during the day.
Alternatively, if you fancy a cup of tea and a piece of delicious home-made cake, a filled roll or something savoury, these will all be available in the Reading Room throughout the event. There is still time to volunteer to serve refreshments in the Reading Room for an hour during the day or to make a cake. If you would like to help, please contact Chris on 400872 – she would love to hear from you!
As mentioned in last month’s article, the Management Committee would like to hear from anyone who would be able to volunteer to join our fundraising committee. We have a vacancy for a fundraising co-ordinator and are always on the lookout for willing volunteers with great ideas for raising money for our village hall. If you feel this is for you, please contact Sue on 400609.
Another way of supporting our village hall and helping to raise funds is to purchase a ticket for the Somerset West Lottery. For each ticket purchased, the Victoria Rooms receives 50p. To purchase your tickets, go to the website www.somersetwestlottery.co.uk and search for Milverton Victoria Rooms. Good luck!
If you would like to book the Victoria Rooms, please contact Geoff on 401365 (or by email at email@example.com) for more details, or visit the village website www.milverton-somerset.uk/milverton.village.hall.
